  Yep.  Even weirder is that this weekend I managed to get the hard drive
to start booting System 5.0.4 on three occasions, each under different
circumstances!  They were:

  (a) Turning DMA off and reinstalling System 5.0.4.
  (b) Switching the SCSI cable and terminator on the hard drive ports.
  (c) Copying the GS.OS file from the system disk to the hard drive.

  None of these circumstances were repeatable, and as soon as I tried
reinstalling System 5.04 or System 6 the problem would reappear.

  I have had e-mail from another guy who has experienced similiar problems
as I, and his analysis was that the Apple // High Speed SCSI card is at
fault.  Does anyone know any more about this?
