The modem port driver that comes with the System is not suitable for tele-
communications. That as a warning :) You'd be best off by using the
Modem Manager (thanks tgo Jawaid) or writing to the serial chip directly
via hardware. You could also use firmware, if you do not need more
than say 19,200.
