Need Fast Serial Driver

Do the current serial port drivers under GS/OS return only one character at 
a time?

I am looking for a driver which would, upon finding "n" bytes of
data in the input interrupt buffer, return "n" bytes to the application.

Internally, the driver would not obtain one character at a time using the
ROM routines to satisfy the caller, but, actually move "n" characters in
one operation.
