    You should first check to see if the Digicomm Scout supports
standard Hayes commands (probably).  You may run into problems if one of
the standard Proterm drivers can't handle the modem.  I use a
SupraFaxModem v.32bis which has its own PT3 driver.

    Get an external modem.  I don't know of anyone around here who has
bought an internal high-speed modem.  An external won't tie you down to
a single system, plus status lights and other diagnostics available only
on external models are very helpful on high-speed connections.
