PT3.0 DCD

now that I've managed to wire a hardware-handshake cable for use with my
SupraFax v32bis modem and ModemWorks 3.0, I'm having a problem with ProTerm 
3.0
After the modem reports a carrier, pt doesn't recognize this and I have to 
manually switch to online-state.
Since the SupraFax is not supported by pt (only supra 2400), I've chosen "
Hayes Smartmodem v9600 (RTS/CTS)" as modem and everything works except for 
the above mentioned.
now does anyone have an idea on how to solve this problem?

I'd appreciate any help - please email your replies directly to me (not to 
comp.sys.apple2) because I'm going on holidays right after this :-) and don't
want to miss any hint...!
