Posting to Newsgroups

automatic poster like the one I am using.  My wife is limited to a
few newsgroups at her site and this group is not included.  She and
her fellow teachers would like to post a question every now and then
and summarize and post the results.  I though posting e-mail in
comp.sys.apple2@somewhere.domain format would work.  It doesn't
unless my gateway happens to be down for some reason.  

I've looked thru my Zen and the other reference materials I have
available and could not find the answer.  My sysadmin didn't know
and another suggested I send it to newsgroup.name@apple.com but I am
almost positive that will not work.

Thanks in advance, you'll make a lot of Virginia educators and
curious souls like me happy.
