The DeskWriter works like a champ in both //e, //c, and IIgs world.
for the 8 bit folks there is an excellent driver in John Links
SuperPatch program which is available from Quality. In addition,
Vitesse and Seven Hills both provide 16 bit drivers that allow you
to use any font.
Other programs i.e., AppleWriter, etc., work well, however, they
can't take advantage of the proportional printing that John Link
provides. (Sure hope hope my brain kept the names straight and
SuperPatch is his an not Mark Munz's. In any case, it is John
Link's Appleworks classic patcher that is needed.)

If you mean having both parallel and serial, the DeskWriter has
both.
