System 7 on the Mac will only allow file sharing. If you want too boot
from the Mac you need AppleShare v.3.0 or higher. I'm not sure how much
this package costs, but I know it wasn't cheap. Something like $1200.00
CAN.

This is what System 7 will let you do. You could also add a network
printer as well.

Cheaper yes, but sloooow. File sharing on a Classic is very slow, and a
forty megabyte hard drive will fill up faster than you think, especially
for two computers. Also the added inconvienience of having both systems
on at the same time. You might be better off buying a used hard drive. I
bought a used 20 meg drive for under $150.00 for my other GS. Works
great.
