As far as I know, in order to have /RAM5, slot 5 must be set to
"SmartPort" in the Control Panel, since /RAM5 is accessed as a device in
your SmartPort chain. This is the big drawback I see toward getting the
SuperDrive controller card (which I'd love to have) -- I just don't have
any free slots, except slot 5, and although I don't usually use the
RAMdisk, it is nice to have it around just in case.
I have a PC Transporter installed in slot 6, and the PCT drivers allow me
to use its memory (768K) as a RAMdisk, so I wouldn't lose too much. But I
don't think you can use the SDCC in slot 5 and still get /RAM5.
