Apple 2 SuperDrive Controller card problems.
I'm having some annoying problems with the new SuperDrive controller card I just
installed in my GS. The first strange thing I noticed was that familiar
ticking sound that is heard when in the finder is now heard all the time from
the second I turn on my GS. I guess that's ok since the drives connected to
the card work ok (just annoying).
Secondly, and most important, I installed the card in slot 5 as recomended by
the owner's guide. I of course switched the control panel setting for slot
5 to "your card". I have a high density SuperDrive as the first drive to the
card, and an older apple 3.5" 800k drive daisy chained to the SuperDrive.
The problem is that now my ramdisk no longer remaps to slot 2 drive 1 with
the new controller card, and thus it is inaccessible.
What do I need to do to get the ramdisk back. If I switch the cont panel to
smartport (disabling the card) the ramdisk appears again. Is there anyway
to get the ramdisk to remap to slot 2 drive 1 like before? I don't have any
other slot available except for slot 5 because I also have a 5.25 connected to
the port which maps to slot 6, and I have a hard drive in slot 7, so I'd
really like to keep this card in slot 5.
Thanks in advance.
Shawn
