Booting from System 7 file server?

I'm using a Mac Classic with System 7.0.1 as a hard drive for my
Apple IIgs... It's wonderful, but I can't startup from the Mac.
My question: Is it possible to directly boot a IIgs from a System 7
Mac (boot from slot 7)? If not, is there some other way I can use
the Mac as my System disk? I ran the File Server Setup from the IIgs
Installer and tried starting the IIgs with a "Local network startup
disk" created by the Installer. When I tried to log into the server
as a regular user or guest, the IIgs responded: "Contact the network
administrator. An unknown system error occurred." When I tried to
log in as the Mac owner, the IIgs reported: "Your startup
configuration has not been set up properly. Contact the network
administrator."

My systems: a ROM 01 "Woz" IIgs with 1 Meg RAM, no hard drive, System
6.0, one 3.5" and one 5.25" floppy, connected via serial cable to a
Mac Classic, System 7.0.1 (with Tuneup), 40Mb hard drive, 4Mb RAM.
AppleTalk is enabled on both machines. Every IIgs folder on the Mac,
including the hard drive itself, has been set to allow sharing.

(For those of you who don't have a hard drive or who transfer a lot of
IIgs files through a Mac, you should still try this. Even if you
can't boot from your Mac's hard drive, it's still cheaper than buying
a separate hard drive for your IIgs!)

I appreciate any suggestions and advice, and I'll answer e-mail
questions promptly. Please respond through e-mail; I miss a lot of
news articles. Thanks!
