Yes it's totally possible. As it turns out, the hard drives in the
Vulcans are IDE. However it is my understanding that the Vulcan
controllers can only work with certain drives. So, the way to go is
get a Turbo IDE card which is made in Germany. The lastest ones
should be able to control just about any IDE drive. I'm about to
buy one of these myself and run a Maxtor 130MB drive off of it.
