        The 3.0 ROMs you're seeing are certainly not for a GS per se; perhaps
for a RAMFast SCSI Card.  Yes, you should get System 6, but you might want to
visit a local user group and get it for free instead of spending $40 to buy
the whole package.  A ROM 3 GS has more RAM than a ROM 01, and a few more
toolsets built in.  Functionally, under System 6, that's about the only
difference.

        You absolutely need more RAM.  For under $150, you can bring your
machine up to 4 megs, which is sufficient for most purposes.  If you don't
want to spend that much, I'd be happy to take the machine for what you paid
for it...  B-)
