Re: Brutal Deluxe's holidays project 2: Sword of Sodan (behind the scene)
I have to admit that I am skeptical about another version available
someplace by somebody under a somewhat NDA.
We all know the story of Apple asking DSI to stop the development of
the game as it may help IIgs sales vs Mac sales. I believe they end
everything and rename the project Task Force due to that.
Graphically, it is a nice software. The programming part is
tremendous. The game interest is quite repetitive (it is a
hack'n'slash) but with Rastan and Task Force, it remains one of the
best "programmed" Apple IIgs programs.
What you will see in the game is no different but the intermediate
screens (instead of the ad' part) and the introduction pictures and
animations: no more, no less. I did not focus on the game itself
(maybe later) but I have always been wondering why 30% of the program
size (SODAN file mainly) were useless.
Oh, by the way, the game is HDD installable (I know, I know, that was
not the hardest part ;-)
