Jan '93 A+/inCider "Lend a Hand" spreadsheet

Has anybody else had any problems with the spreadsheet presented in the
January 1993 issue of A+/inCider in the column "AppleWorks in Action"
under the title of "Lend a Hand"?  (I believe it was supposed to be a
"quick-loan calculator spreadsheet".)
 
To put it bluntly, I can't get it to work.  The number it returns are
all messed up, even when I try the example shown in the article.  I've
re-checked the formulas to make sure I typed them in correctly several
times.
