Re: Huge White Elephant in the room
Hi Folks,
My busy 2cents worth,
CB is pushing through. Its progressing towards completion, being
characterised in hardware, debugged in both firmware and software. All
cards are being soak tested and packaged. My work demands a lot from
me, so I cant work as often as i hope to on CB. Alex has performed
miracles in building new impressive apple II hardware in verilog using
as much logic, if not far more, than the IIe itself. Dealing with
other countries (china supplies parts, NZ assembled boards) is time
consuming and expensive with unexpected calls from customs (US$10K
worth of components raises a few eye brows). But when we finish, we
will have a powerful, flexible board for the apple II that will do the
job. The reason why getting it right the first time is important, is
because once these boards are out there, other programmers will need a
reliable card to develop their new apple II hardware on. If we dont
have CB right, that wont happen.
sorry for being slow, we are getting there.
I have no idea what happened at Kfest. Thats my fault for rushing for
this particular event. A new lesson learnt. That was the first
production card.
