I keep forgetting that I use my Mac G3 to copy files from Prodos disks
to PC disks. An old Mac under OS9 can read and write to Prodos, Mac
and PC disks of 720 and 800 kb. But if you have one of each computer,
then once the software is on the Mac, transferring to a PC is even
easier and faster with networking. You can easily pick up a Mac G3
with floppy for $10 - $20 on eBay. Well worth it to run emulators on
or especially to network to an Apple IIGS with localtalk and/or a PC
with file sharing. Even the OS9 software is free from Apple.
Also disks do not necessarily have to be PC formatted with MFM. There
is software that allows a PC to read Mac disks in the GCR format.

but the software costs a little more than a null cable.
There is a couple of programs for the apple II that allow one to read
from a Mac formatted 3.5" disk called A2FX and HFSREADER. I am
currently trying to break down the code, so I can turn it around and
write back to a Mac formatted disk. Macs use an encryption to hide
their directories, so it will take a little time.
