I can concur with David, I've had to replace these bypass caps on two
separate //e power supplies. I also had another one die recently - not
the one directly over the mains line (where the power cord comes in -
I'd already replaced this a couple of years ago), but rather the one
soldered onto the circuit board. It was IIRC, the same capacitor used
as the one directly over the mains line - it certainly had the same
smell...  ;-)
