I haven't tried that myself. You could do the following ...

Try using PC terminal programs to test COM1 <-> COM2.
If that's ok, then try terminal program -> AppleWin.
If that's ok, then try ADTPro -> AppleWin.
And if that's not ok, please log a bug against the project.
