Check the RCA connector on the back of the monitor.  I have the Color 
Monitor IIe Model A2M2056 (I believe similar to yours) and while it is a 
great monitor it has the world's worst RCA connector.  The slightest touch 
makes the screen do all sorts of unwanted stuff.  I have read that you 
should never twist the RCA jack when connecting or un-connecting on this 
monitor.
