How wedded are you to Apple-hosted assembly?  John Matthews has a nice
cross-development how-to here:

And if you just want to type in a few mnemonics, there's always
Apple's mini-assembler.  Depending on your ROM (I can't remember if
it's in the //c or not...) you can CALL -151 and then enter a "!" to
get to there.  (Or, boot a DOS 3.3 system master, then enter INT, CALL
-151, and F666G.)
