Most companies don't keep old source code, anyway. Microsoft apparently 
deletes theirs as soon as they drop support for it.

Back in the 8-bit era, programmers often didn't bother to comment their 
code, since most of the time they didn't reuse the code or share it with 
others. A lot of 8-bit source, if it were still around, wouldn't be very 
useful for that reason.
