I wrote a python program (for Linux) that takes a list of image files
of various types and assembles them into one PDF file. If you don't
like any of the other options mentioned, I can send it to you. As I
don't have a web-site, it's not generally available, but I'll send it
to anyone interested.
This utility relies on the following open-source programs:
- unpaper
- Net-PBM utilities (pnmtops, ppmtopgm, pnmnorm, giftopnm, jpegtopnm,
pngtoppm)
- ps2pdf (part of ghostscript)
- tiff2pdf (libtiff-tools package)
- pdftk
