The Farallon Etherwave adapters work well between a IIgs and a Mac
LC. Also best if you could get a hold of the one for the PowerBook
because it doesn't need a wall wart (it draws power from a cable that
you attach to the ADB port).

The limitation of the Farallon adapters is that it only provides
LocalTalk to EtherTalk conversion. With this, the OP would still need
software that recognizes AppleTalk on the PC. The Gatorbox, FastPath,
Multigate/MultiPort, and EtherRoute/TCP are supposed to also provide
MacIP capability -- I've only verified on the Gatorbox and FastPath so
far -- so the Mac LC can make use of TCP/IP networking (and with the
same setup, the IIgs with Marinetti can make use of TCP/IP).
