"Portable Apple 1 BASIC for 6502" ?

I've been thinking about a project I wanted to do, and wanted to get Apple 
1 BASIC running independently of the 1.

Apparently there's something wrong with either what I'm doing, or the .a65 
I started from. (First step was the ][.)

The original code I started from didn't even apparently build a working 
binary, but I'll try assembling it again just in case...
