Maybe we can talk Henry Courbis into an Applicard knockoff? They are really dirt simple and could be duplicated today with about 1/4 the parts count by means of a few PLDs.

Looking at a picture of the Cardz180
http://www.mylinuxisp.com/~jdbaker/oldsite/images/CardZ180.jpg
it appears that it doesn't have much logic.

I suspect a knockoff can be done with one old SIMM - they are still available. A single CPLD should take care of all the glue logic.

Many years ago I worked for Adobe Systems. We have designed an AppleTalk
co-processor board for the printers based on Z181 - a Z180 with a built-in half-SCC (85C30). I'm almost sure I have a prototype board somewhere in my junk. So if there is any interest and if I can get the register level programming model, I'll be more than happy to design a clone.

I assume you still have all the software drivers.

I have the complete sources for both operating system (including device drivers) and system utilities.

Interesting about the Z181! That was one of my pipe dreams, to code an Appletalk server based on the CardZ180.

This weekend I'll dig out all the cards I have left and see if any of the PALs are readable. I suspect they are.
