Yes, over the last 10+ years that I've lived in Tokyo, Akihabara has
changed a lot. Gone are nearly all of the small 'hole in the wall'
oddity shops, filled with old computer equipment dating back to the
dawn of computing, only to be replaced by maid cafes and suspect anime
and cosplay vendors. Sad really, I used to spend days roaming an
rummaging through these stores looking for the occasional score. I
miss the old Akihabara for sure.
I do however know where a few component places are, as I often buy
parts for my other hobby, fixing classic 70's and 80's video game
boards (to play on my Supergun), but none of the places I know have
anything like the Apple II cables I need.
