Okay, finally pinpointed the problem: it's taking 38 seconds, from
boot, to actually pop up the ICP or give any indication that it
recognizes the hard disk. I guess I just wasn't being patient enough.
But 38 seconds is well after the drive has finished spinning up; I
presume I can cut down on the wait by modifying the boot delay
jumpers? If so, can someone explain the jumpers to me? They're not
mentioned in the manual linked above; it has settings for partition
start and size and drive ID listed where the other settings should be.
