The Highway Model 100 converter works just fine with a IIGS.  It's a SCART 
input, so you'll need an adapter cable.

Both Midn'tTrain and I have these and are quite satisfied with the results. 
From my experience, you'll need to do a bit of playing with the adapter 
wiring.  Mr. Midn't and I had opposite results with regard to which signal we 
derive sync from.

I was able to use one of the cheapie CGA-->VGA adapters (Wei-Ya ACV-011) with 
my Commodore 128, but these do not work very well at all with the IIGS.
