Or, just as likely, the documentation is wrong. It is probably just using the Toolbox routines behind the scenes which also uses this "move to; then plot" way of doing things.

If MAB's HPLOT is being advertised in the manual as working the same as AppleSoft's HPLOT, it is probably being misrepresented. That's my guess anyhow.
