I have a bunch of FastPath 4 and 5 units. Only some of the firmware revisions on the FP4 seem to work reliably with IIGS Appletalk. On the FP5 sessions will start without incident, but eventually (matter of a few minutes) something decides that the other guy is gone and terminates the session. This may be an interaction between netatalk and the FastPath, though, and for all I know things will be just fine with a Mac on the other end.
The Gatorbox is absolutely flawless with netatalk. All my IIe and IIGS boxes can connect (and boot!) from the Linux fileserver. Don't know what I'll do if the Gator dies..
