As others have pointed out, what solution you employ really depends on
what you want to do with it.
Personally, I'd recommend getting a solution that does let you use the
Marinetti MacIP link layer
(unless of course you already have an ethernet card).

Confirmed. Dec 2005 is the issue that contains this info.
