Copy file using 1 drive?

Hi,

I just obtain System 6.0.1 system disk. And I wanted to copy some
files to this disk. But here's the problem - I only got 1 3.5" disk
drive, and 1 RAM disk.

I thought it should be simply - I put in the source disk, copy the
files to the RAM disk, and then copy files from RAM disk to System
disk. But whenever I copy files from source to RAM disk, it asks me to
insert the system disk. After insertion, the source disk is now grey
out and copying does not happened!

What is the proper way of doing this?

PS: is it possible start straight into ProDOS 8 during boot up? Press
some key?
