Hi, I just obtain System 6.0.1 system disk. And I wanted to copy some files to this disk. But here's the problem - I only got 1 3.5" disk drive, and 1 RAM disk. I thought it should be simply - I put in the source disk, copy the files to the RAM disk, and then copy files from RAM disk to System disk. But whenever I copy files from source to RAM disk, it asks me to insert the system disk. After insertion, the source disk is now grey out and copying does not happened! What is the proper way of doing this?
The proper way is to get a second drive ;-) But you should be able to do it without a RAM disk. Eject the system disk, either through the Finder or by pressing the eject button on the drive. Don't do it by dragging the disk icon to the trash, though. The system disk icon will now be greyed out. Insert the source disk and drag the files you want to copy onto the greyed-out system disk. The Finder will read the files from the source disk and then prompt you for the system disk. Depending on the size of the files and how much RAM you have, multiple disk swaps may be necessary.

PS: is it possible start straight into ProDOS 8 during boot up? Press some key? Thanks!
