What happens if you simply decline the offer, then use CiderPress to
open the volume?

I'm familiar with Macs offering to format unrecognized volumes, but
usually XP just sits there until you try to do something with it.

Perhaps its the Zip driver that's making all the fuss.  Is is connected
via IDE, SCSI, or parallel port.  (If it's parallel port, you are stuck
with the Zip driver.)
