The plastic shell is in one piece, but is very thin on the end
opposite to the cable, the other side is held together by the screw.
The screw thread is actually two pieces. Unscrew it and gently pull
both parts of the thread apart. You may need some force.
But I'd suspect that cutting the cable is better: These plugs are of
very cheap construction, so you need to be very careful when
connecting new wires (you need to remove every pin). The SCART
connector seldom survives being reused in that way. Maybe you one of
the better ones, but at least the ones here in Germany are terrible.
