Re: GS RAM Ultra

Hello Oracle.

It probably need a GAL upgrade much like the other AE boards. Can you read
off what the silk screen text is written on the socketted logic ICs? A pic
or scan would be good too. Maybe I can determine if one of the other GAL
upgrades can be used on the Ultra.

Here's link to an example:
http://www.downloads.reactivemicro.com/Public/Apple%20II%20Items/Hardware/GS-RAM_Plus/Pics/P3230009.JPG

Notice just above the black shrouded 40 pin header the two ICs with the
extra text written on them? I'll need those numbers. These for example say
'GSPLD2A-Q' and 'GSPLD1A-Q' which just happens to mean this particular
GS-RAM Plus works in a ROM1. Had the larger IC said 'GSPLD1B-Q' it would
work in a ROM3. You may find the numbers are the same on your card. If so
then there's a good chance the GS-RAM Plus GAL upgrade will work for your
Ultra card too.

If anyone else has an Ultra that works in a ROM3 please post your IC numbers
for reference. I may also bug you for your card to copy the ICs at some
point if needed. Thanks! Also I could use a good pic of the Ultra. Any
links or scans would be appreciated.
