I have the CFFA card and love it. It's my main hard drive (the only one
hooked up currently), so it's been used nearly every day for two years without
a problem. I have the older v1.2 firmware (new cards will ship
with the new v2.0 firmware), which is pre-set with 4 32-Meg partitions and
everything else one large partition. So I, like most people I assume, have
four 32-Meg ProDOS partitions and one 128-Meg HFS partition.

The card is compatible with ProDOS 8, ProDOS 16, and GS/OS. ProDOS 8 will
recognize the four 32-Meg partitions, the first two in the slot you have the
card in and the second two in a re-mapped slot. ProDOS 16 will recognize
the first two partitions, though it won't remap the second two. GS/OS will
recognize all the partitions with Dave Lyon's free driver and the Apple HFS
FST.

It looks like from the R&D website that the new firmware will not force you to
a particular partition map but allow you to select from 1 to 13 volumes. It
also will boot from any partition and is 25% faster too. All good features.

That is probably your cheapest solution to solve both your storage and
internet access problems ($89 when they're in stock). I have one but
haven't set up my home Ethernet network yet, so I can't personally testify
as to how well it works. It sure is popular, though.

Overstock.com has SanDisk compactflash cards for $23 for 1 Gig, $38 for
2 Gig, and $55 for 4 Gig. They offer $2.95 shipping in the USA. Don't
know if they ship overseas, but I'm sure somebody does.
