Get a copy (online OK, but paper will be much handier) of the
Apple II Reference Manual.
It has *almost* everything you'll need to know until you get
to the Apple //e and beyond, but it's all true for *all*
Apple II machines. If you need info on Double Hi-Res and
auxilliary memory, you'll need Reference manuals on later
machines and third-party add-ons, but it's hard to beat the
original Apple II Reference Manual for all the basic info.
They are readily available and inexpensive ($5).
While you're at it, pick up the Applesoft ][ Basic Programming
Reference Manual--there's never been a better language manual
written, including Apple's own sequels. It's also about $5.
