Hence it seems to only be reading the first block or two but it cannot
read the rest of the disk. I think this is why I'm getting the errors.
This could be wear, or just a lack of free movement of the head
assembly. The head assembly should move quite freely, with very
little resistance, so that the cam follower experiences very little
force.
