definitely wrong. When I netboot my GS from my netatalk+a2boot server,
it takes longer than booting from a hard drive but less or at worst
about the same amount of time as booting from a floppy.

Did you have any other devices plugged into your Localtalk segment
when booting the GS from your os8.5 machine?

no, it was the only thing on and running at the time.  there are no other
localtalk connections or devices.
