Re: IIgs mouse replacement problem

I've got a PS/2-style keyboard and optical mouse, and use an IOGear G-
CV160 PS/2-ADB converter hooked up to my KVM switch.

Connected to a Mac LC475's ADB port, there aren't any mouse-related
issues. But connected to a IIgs' ADB port, it gives an erratic mouse
behavior. Movement of the mouse will sometimes register a "click" in
GS/OS. So depending on where the mouse cursor is, the result of
moving the mouse ranges from benign to disastrous.

Aha! A long-standing annoyance explained. I purchased a Belkin OmniView PS/2 Mac adapater on eBay with the hope of using a PC keyboard and PS2 mouse with my IIgs - by way of an output on my KVM switch. The keyboard worked fine, but I was seeing the exact same silliness with the mouse. Ended up using the original IIgs mouse piggybacked on the ADB bus along with the adapter. Works fine, I just have to remember to grab a different mouse after selecting the IIgs on the KVM.
