Disheartened but not gone.

Hello.

Some of you may have noticed my absence. It has been a mixture of a few
reasons, but I'm not gone, just sitting quietly.

Firstly I have been busy with other things. Haven't had much time for
enjoyable pursuits.

Also the many month delay on components for a project kind of left me
dangling.

Finally, I am yet again without mass storage for my Apples.

Initially the Mac Classic died. A big pain because it meant no more
remote booting via localtalk of my IIgs.
The CMS SCSI card I have on loan isn't playing nice with a Barracuda I
have anymore for some reason which totally eludes me.
And another storage option I have purchased a while ago is still pending.

Now that I think of it there is one more reason. My ISP has done a weird
crippling of port 119. It works at full speed for a few seconds then
drops below acoustic coupled modem speeds. I just discovered that the
Usenet reader on my trusty G3 beige has no timeout and can be left for
the few hours required to get the last few days headers. So it looks
like I am back in business sort of.

I know it's a horribly selfish request, but is it possible to have
another usenet port besides 119 opened on a2central?

On a positive note, With the help of Mr. Courbis, My IIgs now has a
fully functional clock again in a snazzy machined IC socket. So if/when
I can run GS/OS 6 again I won't have any more abbherent behaviour and my
NDAs will work properly.

Once again, Still here!
