When Applesoft was introduced, it used up all of the ROM space (except
the Monitor ROM space), and there was no room for the Mini-Assembler or
the Programmer's Aid #1. They reappeared with the Language Card and the
Apple Pascal "Basics" disk, and later also with the DOS 3.3 Master Disk.

Fortunately, the mini-assembler survives in the Applesoft ROMs--it was
Step and Trace that were sacrificed. And the Programmer's Aid hi-res
routines were integrated into Applesoft.

Sorry, but the mini-assembler did NOT survive in the Applesoft ROM's.
But the monitor's disassembler survived.

Right you are--I stand corrected.

When I got my ][+, I went back to the Computerland the next day and
relocated the mini-assembler and downloaded it to cassette, so you'd
think I would remember that. ;-)

I guess I used it so much from the beginning that I just thought of
it as being in ROM!
