As Dave said, it's normal. But if it bugs you too much you can
deactivate the drive by selecting the driver icon (the one in the system
folder, not the one on the desktop) press Open-apple-I and tick the
appropriate box. Reboot and you won't see the drive in GSOS but any P8
program will still have access. You can also use a program like IR to
start the drive "on the fly" if need be.
