Re: Is Syndicomm in business

Yes, I'm still in business. Just still very badly behind in getting
orders processed. The spring and summer were very complicated for me
and orders took a hit in terms of being processed.
I'm finally starting to claw my way out of the backlog a bit -- shipped
15 orders this past week and am hoping to do at least one or two a day
this week, then do another blast of as many as I can over the weekend.
Sheppy,
As I re-read your note, it seems as if > 90% of the hassles (things that made
you want to take a break) could be avoided if you moved to a
delivery-by-download model.
When someone's payment clears, you place a file in a private web or ftp area
with a coded name and e-mail them the location and name. After some
reasonable amount of time, you remove the file. There are e-commerce software
solutions that can manage this for you, but I'm guessing your volume is too
low to justify the expense.
I, for one, was very surprised to find that the Spectrum CD I ordered was
being physically sent to me. It's been some time since I've purchased any
software for anything that was physically delivered.
For folks who are not up to burning CDs or transferring and unshrinking disk
images, you can charge a handling fee to make your time worthwhile.
The download model eliminates copying and labeling diskettes, printing the
labels, packing, shipping, etc.
