Yes...don't know if it's on any of the archive sites.

I'm using whatever version Gentoo has marked as stable for AMD64. From what
else I've seen on the topic, the free-software zealots who run some Linux
distros (thinking mainly of Debian and Ubuntu) insisted on removing some
functionality from netatalk. Gentoo doesn't enforce that kind of
ideological purity (and it's a source-based distro, so there are no
distribution issues for them anyway).

That said, it might not be a bad idea for me to look into that patch and see
if it does something the current codebase doesn't. I've not noticed
timestamp problems, but then I haven't really looked for them either.

It takes optional firmware that might not have come with your GatorBox, as
it was an extra-cost option. A while back, Cayman had it up for free
download. Netopia (which bought Cayman) no longer has it available, but I
have all of the files here:

GatorShare is the version that's supposed to handle the NFS-to-AFP
translation. It also includes the functionality of GatorPrint (print to LPR
servers) and the basic GatorSystem (which just bridges between LocalTalk and
Ethernet and provides MacIP service).

(Was that enough CamelCase for everybody? :-) )
