I apologize for giving you some inaccurate information earlier about
AppleWorks' preference for Slinky memory (RamFactor) over Aux Slot memory
(RamWorks).

AppleWorks must make some logical selection based on available memory. (e.g.
IF _non_ RamDisk AuxSlot Mem > _non_ RamDisk Slinky Mem THEN use AuxSlot
Mem).

I should have known this. Many years ago I ran IIe's with 5 Meg Slinky
Ramfactors/RamKeepers set up as 5 Meg RamDisks. AppleWorks used the AuxSlot
RamWorks for its desktop and left the RamFactor alone. I seem to remember
about a 600-700K desktop size with a 1 meg RamWorks, which correlates with
your results.

Again, sorry for the bum info, and thanks for the input on the TimeOut docs.
I believe Randy Brandt once said that Munz was the first guy he'd seen to
teach himself how to write a TimeOut application without seeing the Beagle
docs. A truly clever guy.

Obviously, he had access to them later.
