I could suggest doing such a thing but with a timeout, but that adds yet
another layer of complexity. A constant drive run would be bad for me too,
because I have to drop what I'm doing fairly regularly, and it may be a few
minutes to nearly a day later before I get back to it.
The drive seeks tend to drive me a little nutty in ShrinkIt, so I totally
agree that a default for ADTPro would be great. I can't ever recall a
sudden need to read / write an image using a different drive on my Apple.
One more suggestion which I'm fairly sure will be immediately rejected:
A very small extension to the protocol to allow remote control. Ie. from the
PC side. Just the read / write commands would be enough. Besides various
minor uses such as being able to put the Apple somewhere a bit more out of
the way and plopping the drive on the desk of the PC to make the flow a
little better, it'd give a little bit of use to ][+ etc. that have a dead
keyboard controller.
just a suggestion after all Probably not worth the effort but I think it
would be nice.
Tristan.
