First of all you should get the original programming manuals.

Go here:

Then select "Apple Computer Inc." which should produce an
long and interesting list.

Scroll a bit down to find these:
- Apple II Basic Programming Manual
- Apple II Basic Programming Reference Manual (Green)

Further down you can find:
- A touch of Applesoft BASIC
